Fogmaker is the innovation we have all been waiting for. KBE can now offer this exciting new fire protection system, fully installed, to protect your asset.

The Fogmaker Water Mist or AFFF system is smaller, lighter and more compact than conventional fire protection systems and can take up as little real estate as a standard 9kg portable extinguisher. This innovative technology is widely used in Europe with over 50,000 systems installed worldwide; more than 1200 systems were installed in Australia for 2010 and 2011. Over 500 of those in buses here in Perth.

The patented construction allows the agent tank to be mounted in any direction - vertically, horizontally, inverted or in narrow spaces to save on precious machinery real-estate.This is also an important safety and security factor where this fire protection system is installed in vehicles that are ever at risk of a roll over.

The agent tank is anodized, high pressure and corrosion protected for harsh environments, with the distribution network primarily stainless steel with brass nozzles. Options for system activation include automated (pneumatic activation), delayed, manual or a combination of all.

The Fogmaker suppression system comes in a range of agent tank sizes can be fitted on vehicles such as Graders, Loaders, Dozers, Trucks, Underground Machines, 4 x 4's, Buses, Generators, Compressors, Cranes, Trains, Forestry Machines, Boats; practically most machinery with a semi enclosed space.

In most cases there is no need for specialised brackets or fabrication due to the smaller size of the components. Due to the noise control and environmental obligations, engine compartments are being built with sound and suppression enclosures. Noise control has meant engine compartments are more frequently being enclosed with sound suppression. In turn, engine compartments are getting hotter and this is where the Water or AFFF Fogmaker Mist System Work best.

System Options

The Fogmaker system can be installed in many formations to suit your needs, the smallest is 3.3L to just about any size up from there. Agent tanks can be coupled together to suit your location, nozzle requirements or discharge time. Generally we will allow around 2 litres of agent for every cubic meter (not including engine etc).

Discharge time tests have been done with a 3 meter discharge hose. The following results are able to be used as a guide in what can be expected in discharge durations. Additional hose and stainless runs will result in decreases in discharge times.
